Abstract

Airlines reservation  is the system that is used to give the best of booking tickets for airline services,hotels etc for the customers. The web technologies have been developed in such a manner that they can provide good services to its users. The airlines reservation system is a web-based application which have been developed in one of the web technologies .Net with backend as SQL Server.

The airlines reservation is the system that provides not only ticket booking services but also it gives the complete information about the Airlines Company. The ticket booking is made very easy that the customer can book  tickets,hotels etc  by using the airlines reservation service.

The ticket booking service will accept the requirements of the customers and facilitates and then verifies whether the requested number of tickets for a flight can be booked or not using travel information function. If tickets are available then the requested services are provided. Eventually this service displays the appropriate flights information for selection. This online application is very flexible so that the customer can easily fill his details and receive the ticket in time.

 INTRODUCTION TO PROJECT

Airlines have divested most of their direct holdings to dedicated Global Distribution System companies, and many systems are now accessible to consumers through Internet gateways for hotel, rental cars, and other services as well as reserving airline tickets,booking hotel,etc. Airlines reservation is the system that is used to give the customers the best of booking tickets for flight,booking hotels . The web technologies have been developed in such a manner that they can provide good services to its users.

There are two modules in this project

1.     Administrator

2.     User

Administrator:

Administrator will enter into the next form by entering username, password in his login page, after entering into next page Administrator can maintain

Customer details

Flight details

Hotel details

Package details

Cancellation details

Administrator set the timings for the flights that are arrived and also departure, and if he wants he will modify and maintains everything by date wise.

User Module:

User first login into valid username and password If User is not registered then User will register the details first. After getting registered user will get id and password with that he will enter the site and starts searching for required time on the specified date after that he can book  the tickets for airlines, hotel  and also provides the facility of ticket cancellation etc.

Existing System

Currently, whenever a person wants to travel by air, he has to go to the booking counter to book or to cancel or to postpone the ticket which was a very tedious task because the person needs to enquire booking or postponing of the ticket and for that the clerk has to search all the records present, manually one by one due to which other’s would be waiting for their turn for a long time.

Proposed System

In order to eliminate the drawbacks of the existing system, a system has been developed due to which the person need not spend much time in

• Booking,
• Postponing Or
• Canceling the ticket and instead server is built that takes care of every transaction thereby reducing the burden on customer.
