Mailing System Project Abstract:

To notify people of upcoming meetings, important notices, and special events, mails are the general means used. The proposed Mailing List System project is a web application that generates a list of associates in a office with their respective addresses, and mails them whenever required.

Existing System:

Earlier, when mailing was not available, postal system and telephone were the most omnipresent means to spread out notices and job vacancies. This was a very tedious, uneconomical, and time consuming task for consultancy offices But, with the inception of email, the traditional system has gone obsolete.

Proposed System:

Consultancy offices, who are largely in need of a proper mailing list management system, can use this application to search job vacancies in various branches and departments of a company and send emails to users to notify them the details of the job in demand. (Job Portal)

When a job vacancy detail is mailed to a user, the users can upload their resume, containing their details and mailing address, to the consultancy office. The resume sent is stored in the system database by the administrator. If the user is not registered into the database, they are required to complete a new registration procedure. The users are contacted back via email if their qualification suits the job.

Another sound feature of the proposed system is that mailing lists can be created in the system database. This allows administrators to view available list of mailing addresses along with user profiles from the back end.

So, with the proposed system, besides mailing list and user profiles, details of job vacancies are properly managed in the consultancy office. The overall system can be run economically with a limited number of manpower deployment. Also, the requirements of the office are immediately fulfilled and responded back and forth via mail.

Modules Overview:

Mailing List system is a simple ASP.NET project built with two primary modules:

1. Administrators: Administrator can manage, monitor and control the entire mailing list system. They can set and see user profiles, list of mail ids available in the database, and respond to queries sent by users. They can add, delete, or modify user profiles and mail ids from the mailing list. This makes sure that there are no duplicate or ambiguous mail addresses of a user on the mailing list.
2. Users: Users refer to the affiliates and job seekers; their information containing various details along with email ids is managed in the system database. They can easily contact or can be easily contacted by the consultancy office via mail to notify them of something important.

Conclusion:

Mailing system basically comprises of a collection of names and addresses of affiliates of a consultancy office or company. It can act as a bridge between consultancy office and workstation user or between consultancy office and its affiliates to notify users and affiliates of job vacancies, meetings and upcoming schedules.
